SSL renewal warnings or an expired certificate: what to check Print

AutoSSL needs to confirm control of a domain before it can issue or renew a certificate. A warning needs checking, especially if your browser or email app reports an expired or invalid certificate.

  1. Check whether the warning names a website or mail service you still use. Do not assume an unused-name warning means all services are affected.
  2. Check your domain registration and hosting status in the client area, particularly after a service interruption or recent payment.
  3. Note any recent DNS, website or external proxy changes. In cPanel, SSL/TLS Status shows the certificate status for your domains.

Do not bypass a certificate warning, delete certificates or turn off renewal notifications as a fix. Please send support the affected hostname and warning text through the client area if the warning affects a service you use, or remains after service restoration.

We need to check validation and renewal separately from restoring hosting access. Restoration does not by itself confirm that the certificate was renewed.
