Moving a domain to another registrar does not copy your website or email. Moving files, changing DNS and transferring the domain registration are separate parts of a migration.
Keep your current hosting active while the move is prepared and checked.
- Confirm what needs moving, including website files, databases, mailboxes and any external email service. Keep a separate backup.
- Contact us through the client area so we can confirm the migration scope and any requirements before you cancel the old service.
- Prepare the new website and mailboxes, then test them before changing DNS. Preserve records needed by your existing email provider.
- Agree the cutover with us. After the change, check the website, forms and incoming and outgoing mail. Keep the old service until the checks and any final mail copy are complete.
For a local domain registration transfer, see transferring a .co.za or .org.za domain. Please ask us to confirm the scope if you are unsure whether your request includes hosting, email or the registration only.
