Expired domain? Renewal, redemption and recovery explained Print

If your domain has expired, contact us promptly through the client area. The available recovery options depend on the extension and the domain's current registry status.

Renewal keeps an existing registration active. Some extensions have a redemption or restoration stage after expiry, which may require an additional registry process and fee. A domain that has been released may be registered by someone else.

Do not assume a fixed grace period or recovery price. We need to check the domain before confirming whether it can be renewed or restored and what it will cost. The ICANN redemption policy explains the applicable generic-domain process, but it is not a universal timetable for .ZA or every other extension.

Please send us the domain name through the client area so we can confirm its current status and the next step. Paying an old hosting invoice does not by itself renew an expired domain.
